The name of the “Mayor Jeppe’s” party is KUNSTPARTIET. The aim of Kunstpartiet is THE PURSUIT OF BEAUTY THROUGH ART.
Kunstpartiet is an artistic project and wants to show the hidden side of politics and expose the transformative power of imagination when realized through an audacious artistic policy. Kunstpartiet’s candidate for Mayor is JEPPE. Together with his First Lady, JEPPE lives in an invented reality which combines the artistic (the superfluous which illuminates daily life) and the social (the worries of daily life). JEPPE and Linda makes visible their life as a couple and interact with the town’s citizens, according to the conventions of art and fantasy…
The Workshop gives to the participants the experience of intervening in a community with performative interactions which transform everyday life by making visible what is extraordinary, establishing unexpected links and paradoxical situations. The KUNSTPARTIET is the creative starting point to provoke and at same time to get in contact, throughout the texture of the town with local organisations, associations, institutions.

URBAN ACTIONS

WORKSHOP METHODOLOGY: COMMUNITY VS RESEARCH?
In an era when every search is forcibly lonely, is it possible to overcome our beloved and hated individualisms? Research is discovering, it is immersion; Community is expanding, opening – so can the two dimensions coexist? And could the coexistence of these two fundamental dimensions of man (the vertical and the horizontal) be communicated through the Arts? These are the main questions Giuseppe Bonifati will be investigating through this project.
How do we proceed?
- During the workshop Giuseppe Bonifati, together with Linda Sugataghy, will lead a dance and physical training; after that, he will “reveal” the secrets of the intimate performance “ivetotellusomething”. He will involve the participants and interact with them, to give them an experience and to pass a knowledge, as in a laboratory practice. The performance allows a community to come into contact with the Research, literally, one or two people at a time. The passive role of the spectator is broken, letting him interact with the performer for 5 minutes in a small and intimate space. During the workshop Giuseppe Bonifati will teach simple exercises, so that each of the participants can experience the other.
- Theatre as Interference. This sentence should be understood literally. The theatre intervenes in the daily routine and in the usual activities of different milieus of the City. The resulting Disorder shows itself in the form of a renewing energy and a displacement of habitual perspectives. Giuseppe Bonifati plans to use the perspective of interference during the second part of the project. A large group of citizens should be “disturbed” and “changed” by our theatre interference.
